EnviroMed Services was retained by the New Haven Housing Authority to conduct mold inspections for approximately 100 residential units at their 200 Brookside Avenue Housing Complex.
The scope of work included conducting a visual inspection of each of the 100 residential units for the presence of mold, carrying out surface sampling for presence of fungal structures, including spores, by using an adhesive glass slide and taking moisture readings to assess the level of moisture in the structures. The locations of moisture readings and samples taken were represented in the drawing plans of the units. Based on the results the report included detailed drawings of the units inspected with a photo log depicting the affected areas and areas of concern and comprehensive summary table detailing the visual inspections and laboratory results. The construction phase of the project resulted in the cleaning and abatement of mold as well as asbestos- containing materials also identified in the inspection phase.
