EnviroMed is assisting in the upgrade of the Metro North Rail Line. The upgrade is over a several year period and specifically involves the Metro North Catenary, the underground associated soil work, and bridge rehabilitation work from Bridgeport to Westport CT. Over this period EnviroMed has worked directly with the Connecticut Department of Transportation.
During this project EnviroMed’s services include; assessment of soil contamination, inspections, ambient air quality monitoring, oversight of the health and safety of workers on the job, and oversight of the lead paint abatement of the catenary.
We perform extensive environmental health and safety monitoring for the workers involved in steel work, steel erection, and steel abatement on the job. We also provided community monitoring throughout the entire remediation process and soil excavation process. Our monitoring of hazardous materials included heavy metals, chromium, lead, and arsenic.
Across each service area, EnviroMed emphasizes clear reporting, QA/QC-informed data evaluation where applicable, and actionable recommendations—supporting informed decisions, compliance readiness, and safer project execution.
