EnviroMed is providing Health and Safety Monitoring and Supervision for caternary replacement and bridge replacement and demolition for areas along the Metro North Railroad corridor (Westport to Bridgeport).
EnviroMed wrote the Health and Safety Plan (HASP) for the job and trained individuals prior to the start of the work for Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HazWoper). Monitoring that EnviroMed is performing is confined space entry parameters, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) monitoring, Silica monitoring and total dust using a DataRam.
The monitoring is being done during excavation work for the bridge replacements. EnviroMed provides monthly reports for the Health and Safety monitoring. EnviroMed is also on-site monitoring the lead-based paint work on the steel structures (bridges and caternary towers). Monitoring for the lead abatement work is personal and ambient monitors. This project is a long term project with an anticipated duration of 7 years.
In addition to the on-site Health and Safety Monitoring, EnviroMed Services’ Construction Health and Safety Technicians provided the client with a daily checklist for all the site activities to insure that all contractors and subcontractors are in compliance with the OSHA requirements and to the prevent of construction illnesses and injuries including :
All safety concerns was addressed directly to the client’s on site supervisor, and discussed during the weekly safety meeting. EnviroMed CHST helps the client with making decisions on how to address these issues by making recommendations according with the local and federal regulations.
